Post No. 2 - Last Intake of Marine Engineering Students on Diploma Program @ CPUT

The 2019 intake of students (cadets) will be the last on the current diploma program, as the Cape Peninsula University of Technology shifts focus towards offering the Bachelor of Marine Engineering degree from 2020 onwards. This 3 year degree has been years in the making, and it is believed that going forward, the South African maritime industry will benefit from students having this qualification.

Officers on the current diploma program, will have 5 years from 2020 to complete their diploma program studies before this current program is phased out completely. A new diploma program will replace the current diploma program in the near future, in line with the National Qualifications Framework.
